Chief Reporter – Newsquest (High Wycombe)
The Vacancy
Newsquest Buckinghamshire and Berkshire is recruiting a chief reporter, based in High Wycombe, to join our passionate team.
You will be a motivated, enthusiastic journalist with a nose for news and an interest in driving digital growth.
Working in the heart of south Buckinghamshire, you will be writing agenda-setting stories and high-impact journalism for our award-winning paper and website.
You will need to be flexible, have a driving licence and be a qualified senior reporter or an ambitious reporter ready for the next step.
What the role involves:
- Supporting the management team to deliver the editorial strategy
- Responsible for bringing in strong stories and driving the team’s passion for original, high-quality local news
- Using data and analytics to grow readers – both in print and online
- Building the brand’s digital presence
- Maintaining an on-the-ground point of contact for the general public and to represent the newspaper in the community
Experience and qualifications:
- Journalism degree or diploma or equivalent, Media Studies qualification or NCTJ recognised qualification is essential. A senior qualification is highly desirable
- Print and digital experience in news media is essential
- Driver’s licence is essential
