Editor, Central Editorial (UK) – Thomson Reuters (London)
The Editor, Central Editorial (UK) will perform maintenance reviews of content for online publication across UK practice areas and support Practical Law growth projects. The candidate will use a variety of editorial tools and develop or expand skill sets including writing and editing, statutory and caselaw research, and diverse subject-matter exposure. The role will report to the Manager, Central Editorial (UK).
About the role
In this opportunity as Editor, Central Editorial (UK) you will be responsible for maintaining and updating existing content. Working with other teams within Practical Law, you will:
• Review, update, and maintain content for various teams. Create efficiencies around “cold towel”
maintenance review.
• Work with editors from various teams with teams on the creation, development, publication,
delivery, and presentation of content for PL editorial.
• Analyze, succinctly summarize, and reduce existing Practical Law resource information in various
formats.
• Support internal AI development by grading prompt effectiveness, document retrieval, and
prompt results.
• Support team operations and perform analyses using editorial tools such as ACT.
• Have a good understanding of the needs and priorities of lawyers working in law firms , in-house
counsel, and the legal market in general.
• Improve Practical Law resources by approaching them using a customer/user experience lens.
• Bring enthusiasm and ambition, with a desire to improve the efficiency of legal services.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Editor, Central Editorial (UK) if your background includes:
• Degree level (law degree, or non-law degree if the GDL or equivalent has been completed)
• Completion of the LPC, BPTC or equivalent legal professional qualification.
• Good general legal knowledge and excellent written English.
• Excellent IT skills using Microsoft Office and other applications.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent project management skills.
