Energy Voice – Editor – DC Thomson (London/Hybrid)

After several years of strong growth in our energy community, we are seeking an experienced Editor to join our flagship brand Energy Voice and lead the next phase of its evolution.

Energy Voice has been setting the agenda in energy for over a decade, with more than 250k users per month relying on the website as a trusted source of breaking news. We are now investing heavily in the brand to cement our position as the essential platform for anyone active in the country’s energy sector.

The Opportunity:

The Editor will be responsible for editorial policy, producing high-level content to serve and grow our subscriber base and leading the editorial team.

This is a unique opportunity to take control of an established and rapidly-growing brand in the DC Thomson portfolio and shape its future working closely with the Chief Growth Officer Owen Wyatt and Head of Energy Voice Ryan Stevenson.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set editorial policy and lead team of experienced reporters across UK
  • Write and edit news and opinion pieces
  • Lead editorial team to ensure best in class reporting
  • Stay ahead of industry developments to maintain cutting-edge content strategy and drive reporting on growth areas in UK energy
  • Generate original ideas for articles and AV content
  • Collaborate with DC Thomson AV team to create more video content
  • Lead discussion on the award-winning podcast Energy Voice Out Loud
  • Conduct interviews with industry leaders and build network
  • Push content and personal profile on social channels such as LinkedIn
  • Be public face of Energy Voice and represent brand at internal and external events and in national media
  • Work with Ryan, Owen and wider team on strategy for future development and growth of Energy Voice

Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week on a flexible hybrid model. Base location would be London Fleet Street but with requirement to travel for events and senior leadership team meetings as required.
