Layout Sub-Editor – Mark Allen (Surrey)

FARMERS WEEKLY

Mark Allen is a growing media organisation, with 550 MAG-nificent individuals to date and we are looking for a Layout Sub-Editor to join THE leading B2B agricultural title which proudly sits in our portfolio.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the flow of content across our busy website and magazine, ensuring top-notch editing, layout, and digital output.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office, with a salary of up to £36,000 (DOE). We will provide on-the-job training where required so you feel fully supported.

About Farmers Weekly:

Farmers Weekly provides farmers and the wider agricultural industry with news, business features, technical livestock, arable and machinery articles, land and farm sales information, and market price analysis.

This is an exciting time in farming, with changes to the way crops are grown and livestock raised helping to drive innovation and sustainability.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Sub-edit and lay out content for both print and digital platforms
  • Adhere to house style and enhance the quality of output
  • Optimise images in Photoshop for use in print and online
  • Optimise articles for web
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to house styles
  • Lay out pages in InDesign
  • Optimise articles for web
  • Thrive on a varied workload

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven digital production skills, including CMS experience
  • Understanding of SEO best practices
  • Confidence in print layout using InDesign
  • Ability to write headlines, captions, and standfirsts
  • Eye for detail
  • B2B publishing experience (advantageous)
  • General knowledge of farming/agriculture (advantageous)
