Senior Journalist Reporter – Norwich/Cambridge (BBC)

Job Purpose

Do you want to work for a dynamic and forward thinking news team? BBC East is looking for a Senior News Journalist to work across our patch. You will be at the centre of our newsgathering operation as we deliver first class content across to our local audiences all platforms.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Reporting to the planning team, Digital Editor and East Senior News Editor, you will be responsible for covering stories across BBC East Online, Radio and TV platforms. You will be a key member of the East news team, delivering content across all platforms every day. The SJR will be expected to sometimes respond to news on the day but also generate original story and feature ideas that can be gathered and written/produced in advance.

Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

We are looking for someone who is passionate about telling local news stories across all our platforms. You will be editorially engaged and always on the look out for original journalism opportunities. The SJR will be part of a team which is establishing new work flows – so adaptability and teamwork will be essential. Excellent communication skills are also fundamental as the SJR will be expected to liaise with multiple platform producers on any given day as they create content.

This is an agile role based in Norwich with scope for flexible working.
