Trainee Reporter

The Bournemouth Echo is looking for an ambitious trainee reporter to join our team.

For more than 120 years the Echo has been setting the agenda with hard-hitting journalism and an opportunity has arisen for a dedicated reporter to join our team. You will be covering the vibrant patches of the BCP area, as well as the rest of Dorset, and you will use your passion for digital storytelling to unearth fresh and exciting stories.

We are looking for an outstanding trainee looking to cut their teeth and a full driving licence and access to a car is essential.

The role will involve much more than just writing stories and will require someone who is able to try new things and use different storytelling formats.

The Echo is thriving with a fast-growing digital audience but at our heart is amazing journalism you can trust. This is your chance to play a part in writing the next chapter of our history.

The successful applicant will need to find exclusives, cover breaking news and events, and develop and use contacts to dig out stories.
