A-Level results day: NCTJ-accredited journalism courses available through clearing

If so, there are some great opportunities for you on NCTJ-accredited courses through clearing. Some 81 per cent* of qualified journalists have an NCTJ qualification, which held them in good stead for their future careers.
Here at the NCTJ, we have compiled a list of all our centres that still have places available on their courses through UCAS’s clearing.
All NCTJ-accredited courses lead to a Diploma in Journalism, which provides an essential foundation for students who strive for excellence and gives the best possible chance of getting a job in the industry.

It is the trusted kite-mark for courses that supply quality new recruits who have the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to work effectively as journalists in all sectors of the media.
Not only are there places on NCTJ-accredited BA degree courses through clearing, but also fast-track, part-time and academic year courses to suit different needs. There are also apprenticeship opportunities for those who decide university is not for them.

Emma Robinson, the NCTJ’s accreditation manager, said: “A-Level results day can be one of the most emotional and stressful days in a student’s life, particularly if they haven’t got the results they were expecting – be that higher or lower.
“We want to support those students and help them make an informed choice about which journalism courses are right for them and why studying on an NCTJ-accredited course will put them a cut above the rest.”
Once you have found a course that interests you, you will need to contact the university or college directly to see if they will offer you a place. In some cases, there may be an entry test and interview to show your passion and potential.
From now until 23 October, you can apply for a course using clearing if you are not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.
