NCTJ accredits two new courses

The NCTJ has accredited two new courses.

The NCTJ has accredited two new courses. After recommendation from the accreditation board, the board of directors today approved one year’s accreditation for both Leeds Trinity University College’s MA Magazine Journalism and Teesside University’s MA Journalism.

Leeds Trinity University College has a nearly 13-year-long relationship with the NCTJ. In addition to the newly accredited MA Magazine Journalism which was launched in January 2009, the university college offers an MA/PGDip Print Journalism course, which was first accredited by the NCTJ in May 1998. This MA Magazine Journalism course brings the NCTJ’s number of accredited magazine courses to eight.

Teesside University’s MA Journalism joins the university’s BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism, which has been accredited by the NCTJ since its launch in 2007. The media law, public affairs and shorthand modules on both courses are delivered by staff from Darlington College, where the NCTJ fast-track newspaper journalism course has a long-established reputation with industry employers.
