NCTJ anniversary conference to visit Belfast

The NCTJ is to round off its 60^th anniversary celebrations this year with a special Journalism Skills Conference in Northern Ireland.

The conference will take place in Belfast on 30 November and 01 December 2011, and will visit iconic local venues including the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont and Belfast City Hall.

The packed programme will feature speakers from the world of politics and the media and will also be a chance to celebrate the quality journalism training that exists in Northern Ireland.

Speaking about the conference, NCTJ chief executive Joanne Butcher said: “We are thrilled to have received so much support from the leading media companies and journalism schools for staging the conference this year in Northern Ireland.  It is a milestone year, not just for the NCTJ, but also for professional journalism training with Belfast Metropolitan College and North West Regional College joining the University of Ulster in delivering the new Diploma in Journalism from September. I’m sure it will be a memorable event.”
