Now in its 20th year, the campaign celebrates the important role played by local newspapers in communities across the UK and the value of highly trusted local journalism.
Local journalism remains an excellent training ground for young journalists and also provides opportunities for career progression.
Every day throughout Local Newspaper Week (14-18 May) the NCTJ will be publishing the experiences of local news journalists at a range of newspaper groups.

Local Newspaper Week is also calling for votes in the Making a Difference campaign, which highlights the power of local newspapers to campaign for positive change in the communities they serve by presenting an award to the best editorial campaign from the past year.
