The NCTJ wants employers’ views on a new apprenticeship standard for junior journalists.
It was announced in March that employers including Archant, the BBC, BSkyB, The Independent, ITN, Johnston Press, the KM Group, London Evening Standard and Newsquest would work with the NCTJ to help the government reform apprenticeships in England by creating new journalism apprenticeship standards.
A draft of the the standard for junior journalists is now available for consultation. Employers are encouraged to fill in a short survey to provide their feedback on the document by Wednesday, 11 June.
The proposals are due to be submitted to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills by the end of June.
The proposed apprenticeship standard is designed to deliver the quality skills employees need to achieve excellence in the workplace.
