Students studying an NCTJ-accredited journalism training course can now check their exam results online thanks to a new log-in feature on the charity’s recently redesigned website.

All current students and distance learners have been sent an email containing their Unique Reference Number (URN) and password which gains them access to the student/trainee area of the NCTJ website www.nctj.com . Students starting NCTJ-accredited training courses in the autumn will also receive log-in details.

In this secure area students can view their own personal page which will show all their recent exam results.

The log-in area also allows students to see forthcoming exam dates and enables them to update their contact details, ensuring contact with the NCTJ is maintained throughout their careers.

The NCTJ forum is another feature of the student log-in area, allowing in-depth discussions to take place. Current forum discussion subjects include the structure of the Diploma in Journalism and the forum can also be used to discuss recent developments in media law and public affairs.

The student log-in area was developed as a communication device following student feedback to the NCTJ at the Student Council 2009.

The NCTJ acted on this feedback and the student log-in area was a key feature of the wider redesign of the NCTJ website, a process which began in March 2009.
