The Press Association’s legal advisor and editor of Media Lawyer has been approved by Oxford University Press as the NCTJ’s new co-author of McNae’s Essential Law for Journalists.

The shortlist for the NCTJ Awards for Excellence 2010 has been announced and is available to view on the website.

The five top performing NCTJ accredited courses 2011-12 were presented with awards following the gala dinner at the Journalism Skills Conference held at Nottingham Contemporary on 28 November.

David Rowell, head of editorial learning and development at Johnston Press and NCTJ Journalism Qualifications Board member, has been honoured with the 2012 NCTJ Chairman’s Award for his outstanding contribution to journalism training and education.

Tamara Siddiqui, a newly-qualified senior journalist from The News, Portsmouth, has won three out of four available awards for her outstanding performance in November’s NQJ exams.
