Candidates sitting the National Qualification in Journalism (NQJ) have achieved the highest pass rate since the National Qualification in Journalism (NCE) became the NQJ in March 2013. Fifty-four reporters achieved senior reporter status – a pass rate of 62 per cent.
For the 2019-20 academic year, the NCTJ’s sports journalism Diploma in Journalism exam will move online, offering an opportunity to reshape its format and enhance its digital content.
Employers that are approved exam centres can schedule NCTJ shorthand exams.
The NCTJ is celebrating the success of a specialist Journalism Diversity Fund bursary dedicated to the late Claire Prosser as it draws to an end.
Recipients of the NCTJ’s Journalism Diversity Fund (JDF) have hailed its mentoring offer, through which they gained access to invaluable industry advice and guidance.
"Last September, I was awarded the Thomas Read bursary which helped me train for my NCTJ at News Associates in Manchester. As part of the bursary, two weeks work experience at Sky Sports News (SSN) was included and I completed my placement there in February."
