Excellence in journalism is the goal for those entering this year’s NCTJ Awards, which is being launched today.
There is plenty of time to enter the NCTJ Awards for Excellence in Journalism 2010 before the September deadline.
E-learning - this course aims to raise awareness and provide essential guidance to support journalists if they face difficult situations as a direct result of their job.
Journalism students from across the UK were given the opportunity to quiz a panel of NCTJ alumni working across the industry at the annual Student Council forum in London.
"Prior to beginning this course I had been very nervous about my lack of experience in journalism but was determined to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible to ensure that I was useful in the newsroom. I chose to delve into the apprenticeship route because it ensures a direct step in the door."
A career in journalism may beckon for twelve students from Newport who visited the headquarters of the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
"Being able to question people, observe and film footage for the history books was an occasion I won’t forget. For such a saddening news event, the opportunity to cover it was an honour and immensely rewarding."
At the beginning of October I accepted my Student of the Year award from the PPA.
The NCTJ and Facebook held a seminar for journalists and educators at Facebook’s London offices on Thursday, 14 September.
